Transfer 8 Week 2

This week was transfers and I have been transferred to the San Jose Zone! and my new amazing companions are... Sister Jesson and Sister Pockrus! They are so amazing and I love them both so much, the second we all found out we were companions we were all so excited! There was immediate friendship and we all knew that this was going to be an incredible and full of miracles transfer.
Sister Jesson is from Pennsylvania and Sister Pockrus from Utah! and are the Sister Training Leaders over the Sister Training Leaders, I'm like their mini assistant, haha. We work really closely with President and Sister Mella which has been really incredible. Being able to serve them in a different way, it's been great.
Last transfer was hard because of sickness and having to be home or doctors appointments etc, I wasn't able to work the way I usually do, or the way I wanted to, but this transfer I have come home absolutely EXHAUSTED every night and it is THE BEST feeling as a missionary. Working with all you have to come home exhausted every night. We cover 3 wards (Foothill, Willowglen and San Jose 16th wards) and that's a task in it's self, but the members are amazing and ready to help with the work, being able to meet just a few this past week has been a wonderful and edifying experience.
Though it was hard to leave the Saratoga Zone, I know this is what the Lord needed of me so I can prepare myself best for going back to Temple Square. I have already learnt so much and laughed more than ever. We all have a great time together and some incredible learning experiences, especially in companionship study. I have really gained a testimony of Companionship study and how effective it can be in the past week.
I'm coming up to 11 months on my mission (tomorrow), it's crazy to see how fast the time flies by, just gives a greater emphasis to work as hard as we can and to make the most of every moment. To be a missionary with no regrets when I walk of that plane in Melbourne. To use Preach My Gospel and the Book of Mormon the way the Lords intends us to to. Preach My Gospel is amazing and can help us all (tag or not) become better [member] missionaries. Preach My Gospel came from Heaven, it has been written exactly the way we need it, so that we can fulfill our purpose in "Inviting others to come unto Christ". By studying it and applying it, who knows how many eternities we can change! Sister Jesson gave a talk on Sunday and said "How would it feel when we get to judgement and your bestfriend said "you knew, you knew this whole time and you didn't tell me!"" I don't know about you, but I want to make sure that never happens, to make sure we declare the truthfulness of the gospel to all the earth!
This week I have started reading the Book of Mormon again, using the activity given in page 114 of Preach My Gospel. I am still only in 1 Nephi, but it has already been an incredible experience and a wonderful reminder of how much I love the Book of Mormon and why I love it so much! It has been an incredible testimony builder and really made me think about the Saviors role in the Book of Mormon and who He is, what His attributes are and the words He speaks. I would exhort you to take up the challenge and study the Book of Mormon in this way, it will change your life! I can already see how it's changing mine, just in 2 days of reading.
I know the Book of Mormon to be the word of the Lord, and I know that it is another Testament of our Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ. I continue to learn and grow each time I read the Book of Mormon and I know that is possible for all sincere seekers of truth and I know that it will change your relationship with Jesus Christ and help you draw nearer to Him.

Transfer 8 Week 1

I'm excited for the next chapter of my mission! Even if it pains me to turn the next page. But I am excited to see what comes next and to put every effort into what the Lord needs of me no matter where I go.

Time flies when your on a mission and yep, my 8th transfer is here and will be the shortest of my mission a total of 4 weeks!
Nothing really happened this week besides going to an incredible Japanese Market place for dinner with Ann and Aubrey, Exchanges, Australia Day dinner, OH and the transfer calls....

Sister Martin and I are both being transferred and so they are white washing the Monta Vista Ward and my heart is literally broken! However, I know that the Lord has a plan for both us and our amazing investigators... Even our investigators were heart broken :(
On Sunday while the sacrament was being passed, I was praying for help for the pain I was feeling, knowing this was my last Sunday with the YSA and with our Investigator and I felt the need to turn to Mosiah 3:19 and I saw it in a way I never have before.

"For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father."

I have been praying a lot to help me become more Christlike and exersice the Christlike Attributes given in Preach My Gospel and this was an answer to many prayers, I knew that this is a way for me to become a saint through the Atonement and to put off the natural man, to be humble and willing to submit to his will, even if I will only be in this new area for just 4 weeks, there is a work for me to do there and I have to trust the Lord enough to know that Reece and Armon will be okay and looked after by whoever takes over the area, to know that I will learn what is needed of me these next 4 weeks in this new area that will prepare me for when I go back to Temple Square, it was a humbling experience and I know that He heard my prayers and answered them through the scriptures, as he always has for me throughout everything. This is His will and He knows so much better than I ever could, if I love him, which obviously I do, I need to have the faith to trust him with all I have and put everything on the alter of sacrifice and let him mold me into who he needs me to be.

I love my Savior and I'm so grateful for the Atonement and the way I am able to use it in my life in ways I never would have if I had not come on a mission, I'm grateful for the scriptures that lead me and guide me and help me understand the Lords will for me, I know they come from him and is proof of His great and powerful love for every one of us.

Search them diligently and pray always, you will find him and have greater joy than ever imagined.

Love, Sister Ryan xx
